The Mearablog –– Fly Union X BET Music Matters Tour Vlogs (Parts 1-3)

Fly Union is a part of the BET Music Matters Tour and have been performing with the likes of Stalley, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake. Fly Union has been vlogging along the way to give fans some insight into what it’s like to be on the tour.

Even LeBron James was seen in the audience at one of the shows before pulling off in a car probably none of us can currently afford after chucking up the deuces.

Check out some of their experiences, both on and off the stage.

The Mearablog –– Black Zheep DZ ft. Soduh – “Platinum”

Excuse me for being a little stingy, but when I first heard this track I had to play it a couple more times before I posted it and shared it with the world.
Platinum” is a single off of Black Zheep DZ’s third mix tape entitled Platinum ’93. First off, the second the beat dropped I started cheesing like someone just told me I won a bag of money. Then these dudes started spitting…
Black Zheep DZ, native to the east side of Baltimore, is a part of a collective that call themselves the “7th Floor Villains.” Once you download Platinum ’93, you’ll notice that the genre is listed under “Basement rap”; that’s honestly the feel that I get from this. I can picture someone playing this while kickin’ it in the basement with their people, doing whatever it is that people do in basements now-a-days…

The Mearablog –– Listen: Chuuwee – “Pissin Me Off”

At this point, Wild Style looks like it has the potential to be extremely dope and make an impact on the industry. Earlier this afternoon, Chuuwee dropped another single off of the upcoming mixtape. Chuuwee went in with what what I like to call his trademark “retro-flow” filled with hints of 90’s hip hop. This track was very well produced by Large Professor.

The Mearablog –– Listen: Rome Clientel ft. REKS – “One Life To Live”

“One Life To Live” is the second single to be released off of Rome Clientel’s upcoming The Empire 2: The Battlegrounds EP“Free” being the first. By the time REKS came in to lay down a solid first verse, my ears were already perked up because of the dope production job by ATG. Rome comes in to take over the rest of the song chronicling his journey in life so far.

You can download and listen to “One Life To Live” here.

The Mearablog –– Watch: Chels – “The Hustle” [True School For The Moon Children] (Official Video)

Here’s the video to “The Hustle“, the latest single off of Chels’ mixtape entitled True School For The Moon Children.  In “The Hustle”, Chels goes on to describe her drive to reach success and avoiding those that get in the way of it. This video was directed by Shawn Tha Kidd.

The New Orleans native has been spitting since the 3rd grade and, at the age of 20, has already received personal endorsements from Amanda Seales and Erykah Badu. That’s something that some people that have been in the game 10 years haven’t managed do yet.

The Mearablog – Listen: Rav.P & Swerve – “Have(nots)”

Over 20 years ago Tupac Shakur made passionate statements on the subject of greed and irresponsible spending in hip hop. Swerve, coming off of The Barrelhouse LP, and New Jersey emcee Rav.P use this Soulful produced track, “Have(nots)“, to show that these issues are still prevalent in today’s industry. This is the first track off of a joint EP between the artists expected to come out later this year.

And if you only got two kids, can you just keep it to two rooms? I mean why have 52 rooms when you know there’s somebody with no room?”- Tupac Shakur

The Mearablog – Listen: Chuuwee – “40oz’s & 40 Sacs/Beastie Boy”

I’ve found that it’s really dope when Chuuwee uses his young mind-old soul flow to do his thing on tracks with an old school sound. That’s exactly what he does here on “40oz’s & 40 Sacs/Beastie Boy“, which is really two-in-one with a handful of shout outs to classic hip hop lyrics. This track is sure to be on Wild Style which is expected to drop on Oct. 8th.

Free” is the first single off of Rome Clientel’s upcoming EP “The Empire: The Battlegrounds”, expected to be released in October/November. The Elmira, NY emcee takes a look at society and all of the issues that people come across including unemployment and the hardships of the current economy.

The ILLZ recently dropped a track entitled “A New Day”, which was the last one to make it onto “The Darkest Hour”, his long-term project expected to drop Nov. 13th. “A New Day”, one of The ILLZ few un-sampled records, was produced by Richard “Parlay” Copier.
