The Mearablog – Listen: True 2 Life – “Hot Baby”
I don’t know about you, but it’s been a while since I’ve heard something new a legitimate hip hop group. Just for the record, a bunch of established solo artists deciding to do a couple of songs together doesn’t make them a group.
It was kind of refreshing to hear “Hot Baby”, the latest single from the Brooklynites, True 2 Life Music. The track includes a sample from “Sitting In The Park” by Billy Stewart.
True 2 Life Music consists of Brooklynites K-Words, Concise, and Slangston Hughes. Each of these emcees held their own on “Hot Baby” and no one stole attention away from the rest of the group. That’s one of the aspects of being a hip hop group that a lot of people seem to forget about.

The Mearablog –– Listen: Chuuwee – “Float”
I originally wasn’t going to post this track and just wait to review Wild Style, as a whole, when it drops in a few days, Oct. 9th. I played it for a while and realized that I had no choice.
“Float” is another track off of Chuuwee’s upcoming mix tape, WIld Style, that someone apparently leaked after getting a hold of the preview. Chuuwee just decided to go ahead and tweet the link to the video anyway.

The Mearablog –– Fly Union X BET Music Matters Tour Vlogs (Parts 1-3)
Even LeBron James was seen in the audience at one of the shows before pulling off in a car probably none of us can currently afford after chucking up the deuces.
All of these videos were directed by Max Rodriguez.

The Mearablog –– Listen: Chuuwee – “Pissin Me Off”
At this point, Wild Style looks like it has the potential to be extremely dope and make an impact on the industry. Earlier this afternoon, Chuuwee dropped another single off of the upcoming mixtape. Chuuwee went in with what what I like to call his trademark “retro-flow” filled with hints of 90’s hip hop. This track was very well produced by Large Professor.

The Mearablog –– Listen: Rome Clientel ft. REKS – “One Life To Live”
“One Life To Live” is the second single to be released off of Rome Clientel’s upcoming The Empire 2: The Battlegrounds EP, “Free” being the first. By the time REKS came in to lay down a solid first verse, my ears were already perked up because of the dope production job by ATG. Rome comes in to take over the rest of the song chronicling his journey in life so far.
You can download and listen to “One Life To Live” here.

The Mearablog – Listen: Rav.P & Swerve – “Have(nots)”
Over 20 years ago Tupac Shakur made passionate statements on the subject of greed and irresponsible spending in hip hop. Swerve, coming off of The Barrelhouse LP, and New Jersey emcee Rav.P use this Soulful produced track, “Have(nots)“, to show that these issues are still prevalent in today’s industry. This is the first track off of a joint EP between the artists expected to come out later this year.
“And if you only got two kids, can you just keep it to two rooms? I mean why have 52 rooms when you know there’s somebody with no room?”- Tupac Shakur

The Mearablog – Listen: Chuuwee – “40oz’s & 40 Sacs/Beastie Boy”
I’ve found that it’s really dope when Chuuwee uses his young mind-old soul flow to do his thing on tracks with an old school sound. That’s exactly what he does here on “40oz’s & 40 Sacs/Beastie Boy“, which is really two-in-one with a handful of shout outs to classic hip hop lyrics. This track is sure to be on Wild Style which is expected to drop on Oct. 8th.

The Mearablog – Video: G.O.O.D. Music Freestyle on The Funk Flex Show
G.O.O.D. Music stopped through Hot 97 in New York to spend time with Funkmaster Flex himself on The Funk Flex Show. While there Big Sean, Cyhi da Prynce, andCommon blessed the mic with individual freestyles to promote Cruel Summer, the recently released G.O.O.D. Music album.
Everyone may have their own opinion about who went the hardest, but there is no denying that all three G.O.O.D. Music artists snapped.
You can buy Cruel Summer on iTunes or Amazon.
